New Juniors and Pupil Skills
posted by Kerry Cain
Well teams have been selected, work is well underway and costumes will be coming out thick and fast! Welcome to the following new Junior members; Bronte, Tylah, Caitlin, Emily, Amy, Maddison and Tahlia. We hope you are enjoying yourselves and that you continue to learn new skills throughout your time with us at Marden. Congratulations must also go to the girls who recently took part in the Pupil Skills Examinations. The examination system was first introduced in 1979 to raise the standard of calisthenics and to unify terminology and technique throughout Australia. The system consists of three divisions – TESTS, GRADES and MEDALS. Within these divisions there is a logical progression through the various elements which make up the foundation of calisthenics.
This is a National Exam program administered by each State/Territory committee. The Test and Grade exams are based on a written syllabus and music audio which emphasise technical detail, presentation and knowledge of terminology.
In the Medals sections choreography and performance are also considered.
Test 2: Harleigh Stanton, Shanae Patten
Grade 1: Elyse Pavan, Lucy Reynolds
Grade 2: Emma Cain, Paige Folland, Katrina Smith, Courtney Gray, Isabelle Byrne, Sophie McHugh, Zoe Svencis, Renee Wood
Grade 4: Jenna Guy, Rylee Vitaz, Jessica Hardman, Atareta Fitzgerald. Well done girls and a big thank you to both Nikki and Melissa Ianunzio for coaching the girls. IT'S A BOY! Congratulations to our Sub Junior coach Kellie Miller and her husband Daniel on the birth of their son Joshua xxxx.
REMINDER: Please remember the AGM on Thursday 8th March at 7:00pm. All members are welcome!

Notice Board & Graceful Comps
posted by Kerry Cain
We have recently placed a Notice Board up in the Gym as another form of communication for our members and their families. It has all the information that appears on our Website for all those families that don't have access to the Internet. There is a copy of the Graceful Girl Heats program, May Competition Dates, Grading details and a number of copies of the entry forms for the Gleneliz Solo/Duo and Graceful Girl competition which is not held until November. Please go to the Gym prior to your childs lesson (regardless of which hall they are in) to see all the latest news.
The Events Calendar has been updated. You have the option to switch between three calendars; CASA, Marden and Holidays. All important dates appear on these calendars so please check them for Meeting dates, Competitions and other events.
Congratulations to all of our girls who recently competed in both the Brighton and Del Sante Graceful Girl Competitions. Thank you to both Clubs for having the foresight to hold these competitions prior to the CASA Competitions. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to appear in front of an audience and for the coaches to get a good idea as to whether they are on track with their routines.
Good luck to everyone who has managed to purchase a ticket in our Easter Raffle and thank you again to Kaye Upward for organising this. There are also some cute Rabbits for sale for $2.50 each. Please see your section money lady if you wish to purchase one of these.
Finally, all the very best to all of our beautiful Graceful Girls for the CASA Competitions that will be held in April. Remember everything your coach has taught you but most importantly enjoy yourself! Once results are known the Results section of our Web site wll be updated.
Have a Happy and Safe Easter weekend and if you are going away .... enjoy the break!

Happy New Year & Welcome Back!
posted by Kerry Cain
Happy New Year and welcome back to Marden everyone!
Classes have recommenced for 2008 and the teams have been working hard already.
Over the years Marden have proven time and again that we are the number 1 Calisthenic Club in South Australia, last year winning all Sections from Juniors through to Seniors. We aim for all girls to learn that to be successful in anything in life, you need to put a little bit of hard work into whatever you do. They will learn all aspects of Calisthenics and we will aim to make them the best that they can possibly be at this sport that we all love.
If you are new to Marden or Calisthenics, welcome! Your child/children will make life long friends and enjoy the experience of ‘dressing up’ to perform on the stage for Mum & Dad (and the extended family). This will not only delight them, but you will be surprised at what your daughter achieves over the time they are at Marden.
REGISTRATIONS
Please ensure you have paid your Registration and that the Code of Ethics form has been signed and handed back to your section money lady.
